God's sense of humor

I've been praying for patience lately. Of course, I know that some say that this is something that you shouldn't pray for but I was desperate OK LOL Well, I guess I'm going to be learning the lesson the hard way, which is why you're not suppose to pray for patience in the first place. You see, I broke my ankle last Wednesday and have been hobbling around on crutches ever since. Waiting on others to help you meet your basic needs is one sure way to learn patience. As my title says: God really does have a sense of humor sometimes.

I disagree. I think you should pray for patience and I have first hand knowledge of God wanting me to have patience. It's a long story but God was nagging me about my lack of patience. 3 times in 2 weeks I received the same message that "Patience is a Virtue." Once I realized that was for me the nagging stopped. Later I again became impatient and was talking to God and He told me that I needed to take a chill pill. I rushed things and would make them happen rather than wait for God and His timing. This often got me into trouble and I had to as God to get me out of it. If I would have waited things would have been better than I could have imagined just not in my time but His.

My grandmother told me this also! So when I am finding myself in some desperate need of more patience from another chaotic day, I will now pray to learn how to be more patient... and I admit, I often find myself praying to for those lessons a dozen times a day.
